How Redboard can save your budget thousands
Far more than a simple storyboard application, Redboard streamlines your 3D animation workflow, empowers directors and benefits
producers by reducing the need for expensive and time-consuming revisions. Redboard provides a complete pre-production solution uniting storyboarding
with the rest of CG production pipeline. Once completed, your storyboard is automatically converted in to a Maya file for use by the 3D artist.
Position characters, props and camera angles with user-friendly "game" control
- With minimal technical experience, storyboard artists and directors can position
characters, vehicles, props and cameras exactly where they want.
- Easily add drawings for expression, pose and characterisation
- Redboard's revolutionary workflow technology ensures that when the 3D artist
imports the scene into Maya, all positions and locations
of your production models will correspond precisely to your
Redboard layout and the storyboard.
- Redboard superimposes the original drawings over your Maya camera viewport so that
the 3D artist and animators have a direct visual reference to the original
storyboard.
Work efficiently with your editing team
- Save your storyboard as standard image files and import them into your favourite editing platform
- The editor can now edit the images as an animatic
- Export a standard EDL (Edit Decision list) from your editing system.
- When the EDL is imported into Redboard, Redboard will now export tweened
animations of your character and prop movements to your Maya project,
using the timing specified by the EDL, giving 3D artists clarity and reducing the need for costly changes.
Export Route Sheets
- Redboard exports an Excel-compatible CSV file with detailed scene data allowing you
to keep track of comments and changes.
- Producers get a detailed breakdown for every episode including image thumbnails,
shot name, shot duration, lens used, character distribution, prop
population and much more.
Redboard is suitable for all types of studios working on series or feature work and is ideally suited to multi-studio co-productions
where accurate communication between studios in different parts of the world is essential to delivering on time and on budget.
